Engine Start Up....
Hey guys. I am still a little ways from truning the key on my first engine build but I want to make sure all is kosher when she starts for the first time. Here's what I have so far:
B18b
Bored .020
Wiseco 9.5 comp. forged pistons
decked block and plained head (head = .012 due to imperfection)
compression should be around 9.6-9.8
forged Eagle H-Beams with ARP bolts
Type R oil pump
Crower Stage II cams, double valve springs, titanium retainers
P&P'ed head
all new OEM bearings
recut valves
Edelbrock intake manifold and throttle body
AEM fuel rail
DC 4-2-1 two piece header (no exhaust yet)
I'm still deciding on injectors but I do have a new APEXi S-AFCII on the way. I don't know how to use it but that's what dyno time if for. I will be getting a fuel pressure regulator. Here's my question. Will I be able to start the engine without tuning the computer and will the injectors send too much fuel in? I want to make sure that the engine runs before I bring it to the dyno to tune it. Please advise. THANKS!!
