Is the backlash on the steering rack adjustable?

Is the backlash on the steering rack adjustable?
... after replacing the end bushings I felt the backlash was a bit too big it makes noise during turning. BTW is a manual steering rack on a 95 hatchback.

no, you cannot fix backlash on gears. the rack n pinion are simply worn
