EG interior light won't work. Wondering if...
When I open the doors on my EG, the interior light doesnt come on. Both switches are new, fuse is fine, bulb works, switch is in the correct position, etc. I'm wondering, though, if the fact that I don't have any radio installed in my car would make this not work. I know in the newer civics the interior light is tied to the radio for some reason. Anyone know if this is true in 5th gen's?
If true, anyone know how I can bypass it? Can I cross some wires together in the dash or radio harness or something?

if you have a test light or a DVM pull out your bulb and with the passenger door open make sure you have 12volts on one side and ground on the other.
which ever you are missing trace the path back.

on my 98 EX it has EVERYTHING to do with the radio... Well at least the radio harness. I simply jumpered two wires to get it to work after I installed an aftermarket radio.

yep the 96-98 LX, EX & HX had the interior lights routed through the radio. Other years and models do not.
