about engines??

ok im way confused, are there D16y8 vtecs and non-vtecs?
because my stock 2000 civic ex has this but does not say vtec on valve cover, please help?

you have vtec it just doest say it on your valve cover

if it where to say vtec would that mean anything? or just an option at the time of buying at the dealership?

The newer d series don't say vtec, but I think that the 92-95 d series do. Correct please if I am wrong.

D16Y8 engines dont say VTEC on the valve cover. 96-00 civic EX

D16Z6 engines do say VTEC on the valve cover. 92-95 ex/si

not all d16z6 engines have VTEC on the valve cover, i believe it's only the 93-94
