Do you live in Canada? or do you really own a SIR? eitherway, with your In-N-Out mods, your do not really need tuning. Besides, you need either a dyno or a wideband to accurately tune you car with any type of device, whether its a VAFC, Hondata, motec, etc.

You are OBD2, VAFCs will work with your car without converting anything.

honestly, I've seen some pretty good gains on a dohc with boltons.

I had no idea that you need to run obd1 to use a VAFC.

Will you gain power from tuning? Of course.
Will you pay a lot to convert your obd2 to 1? yes.
And tuning? yes.

But for a few ponies, you going to pay a lot more then you want to dyno tune. The money you spend may go towards ctr or itr cams.. AND THEN you should consider tuning.

Im not telling you what to do, this is just what I would do. And remember, that shop will want you to tune... why? because they are making money off you when you pay them to tune. DoH!

I dont think there is any reason for you to switch to obdI from obdII..... furthermore tuning usually will only cost you about $100/hr for a vafc and with your mods it would only take an hour to do.... so if you got it tuned and got another 8-10whp out of it Id say its definately worth the tuning... unless your planning on doing cams over somthin really soon... then id say wait till you got them installed.

Why did you quote me?
I never told him to convert to obd1, it was in his original question.

I completely agree with you however when you say he should wait for his cams, or other modifications, THEN get tuned.

hey thanks alot guys...i really needed some quick heads up pointers n u guys provided me with the right info..as for the cams/pistons part, the internals mite come later down the road...but for now i just wnana tune my car with my bolt ons..i was told that with the bolt ons that im running under vafc, i mite be able to dyno at around 140ish to maybe close to 150 whp...the shop told me and they're very pro about it since a previous customer did the same but had hondata isntead of running vafc..yess i know theres a big diff in hondata n vafc but with 140ish horse, im very happy since my cars prolly sitting slightly less then 130 whp..thanks again for the reply but keep suggesting!
