yes, it's y-49. the best color of a car EVER. drive a y-49 and you'll get maaaaaaad ***** along with a lot of vtec as well.

Not to mention your CRX will blow up, the wheels will fall off, the throttle stuck to the floor, flames come out of blinker lights when you make a turn, you get zapped evertime you listen to the radio, the horn goes off magically, breaks are a random occurance if you press them or not.

Yes, yes they are I can attest to this. Here is my story:

Back in 2002 I had a Y-49 CRX with a D16Y8 swap. The swap is a freaking bitch itself, but the worst part was this: In July, I was driving to the sky train stationo ot pick up someone. Car acted all weird and started driving funny. I get there, park it, and teh bitch wouldn't start. I get her towed home... 2 months later, after 4 fuel pump installs, 2 distributor installs and a whole lot of tears, I write it off by rear ending a guy and then getting rear ended right after. Took me all summer to fix the car, have it running for like 3 weeks, then write it off.

 

i almost bought a y-49 CRX, glad i didn't. you can't paint over the curse.

 

can you acid strip the curse? more stories and ****.

 

My friend has a Why-49 CRX and it's been pretty curse-free, except for the cracked piston... and the seats that won't sit up straight... and the new tire that exploded... ok nevermind.

I actually thought I was curse free...nothing happened until about 2 years after I bought the car (had it for three years now).

-Wake up and go outside from girlfriend's apartment to get into car for work. Car was broken into. Stereo, shift ****, intake were stolen.

-2 months later (girlfriend and I broke up)

-1 week later (just got a new apartment) I wake up and go outside to go to work again. Guess what??? Corner lights were stolen, but absolutely nothing else was touched. They were just ghey clear corners too. This happened on my 3rd day at my new apartment

-2 months later I wake up to go to work (you notice a trend yet?), and my car right outside my apartment is just chillin...but with no hood. Where's my CF hood you ask? Beats the **** outta me...(my new intake I replaced from when the last one was stolen was now gone as well).

-3 months later I wake up and go outside from my new girlfriend's apartment to go to work...entire car is gone. Car was stolen 3 days after my new CF hood was put on.

-Luckily, I got my car back 3 days later (stripped of course). The only things taken were the CF hood, the corner lights (again), and I didn't have another intake, just a filter hose clamped on the throttle body...which was oddly stolen as well.

...In a span of about 7 months I went through 2 sets of corner lights, 2 CF hoods, 2 intakes, 3 intake filters, my nice stereo, my shift ****, and my pride. Not to mention the stress of having the car stolen and the fact that the ignition was completely torn apart when the car was jacked.

SO YES, y-49's DO HAVE A CURSE!!! I REALLY ******* BELIEVE IT NOW.

...Still though, I'll rock one till I die. Well...maybe.

 

i searched high and low for my y-49.... only to be bit by the curse 3 days after i bought it. they all die horrid deaths.... i got t-boned by someone who ran the red light ... and i killed an 88 y49 at that... its a damn shame... i'm still looking for them... i want another one! but i'll settle for dirty *** white for now.
