b16 and itr trans have the same gear ratio but different final drives i believe. not exactly sure.

ls tranny's are the longest geared trans. if the bunch, not really made for performance and bad for the track.

and not sure bout the gsr trans either. might be close to b16 tranny

and not exactly sure bout the rest

b16 and type r are the shortest-geared, followed by the gsr, and the stupid ls (God, i hate that tranny).
type r has a 4.4 fd (us) and 4.785 fd (jdmland) and limited slip diff.
controversially type Rs have stronger synchros because they are "dual cone." do i know what that means? no. do i know if it's true or not? no.
some b16s have a 4.4, some have a 4.266 fds
ls has a 4.266 fd

summation:
ls trannies suck a nut, and the rest get

Here are all of the gear ratios, I think some sources have debateable info, but it's close enough to make a decision on which tranny you prefer

http://www.allmotorhonda.com/t...s.htm

As you can see from this chart, not every b16 tranny has the same ratios as an ITR tranny, sometimes they share ratios in 3 gears, and sometimes they are slightly different across the board. However, they are pretty similar and will probably exhibit the best acceleration, with the lowest top speed due to gearing. Getting a GSR tranny, or a b16/itr with a LS 5th gear is an option if you are concerned about running close to 4500rpm while cruising at 80mph.
