Default adj cam gears

Whats the best way to set the gears. I know that it should be on a dyno when doing it but, whats the quick easy way to actually set them and not tear anything up. Yes the motor is fully built: pistons rods port polished head ect.

I would keep them at 0 degrees until brought to a dyno. Everyone's engine is different so you won't get any set numbers. The AEM gears have "recommended" numbers, but I wouldn't use em. Dyno tuning's the way to go.
