when i got my swap i didnt recive a tranny so i used my h23's tranny am i gimping vtec with the longer geared tranny . Whats your thoughts on the h23 tranny on a h22.

 

Gimping VTEC??

H23 tranny is nearly the same as a 5th gen H22 tranny, its not "that" bad...

 

reason i said gimping vtec is i heard the h23 tranny doesnt allow vtec to engage for very long compared to a h22 tranny or the vtec takes longer to engage then normal? Have i heard wrong?

 

yes, when you shift from 1-2 you may be out of hi cam for a second or two , but from then on, you should be fine..

The only tranny that is better is the 4th gen VTEC ones.. If its JDM, check the codes, some of those tranny are longer geared then the H23
