Idle Prob. 1300-1600 bouncing. Can cover single hole partial and get steady 750
Had this prob for a while now but I used to have an exhaust so I can bear it. Well my exhaust was stolen when the car was so I dont have an exausht for now, just a small piece of pipe and a resonator. So its loud
So my cars idle bounces from 1300-1600 pretty quick when full warmed up, but if I take off my instake and partially cover this hole here

I can get it to drop to about 700, coverring the hole what seems to be like 75%
So how the **** do I fix it? Its jsut taking in too much air I think
Its a JG 62mm t/b, TPS is still factory riveted. IACV was cleaned a while ago, swapped for a good one and still nothing
Why is this ****** sucking in so much air?
Hope you can help, bump if you look at it, Im off to work and need this fixed before I put it on the road.
Thanks

Have you tried adjusting the screw on the top of the t/b? Maybe it's out too much. Check to see if you have any vaccum leaks anywhere else.
The idle screw wasnt making a difference at all in or out
I just said **** it. I coverred about 95% of the hole in the pic with a nice slice of duct tape, got the idle to about 400 lol, engine was shaking almost dead
Took about 15 tries to get the tape positionned perfect and tight to make the idle about 850, little high but I ran out of time
Maybe now I can play with the idle screw

If you covered the TB and it's still leaking it has to have a vacuum leak somewhere coming off from the manifold.

Thats not smart dude...i hope your not planning on driving it around like that. If that piece of tape gets sucked into the CC then you can say Hasta La Vista to that biyatch. Check for vac leaks...thats most likely what it is. Does it do it when its worm or when its cold? If its doing it when its cold you might want to check you FITV. Good luck

you have a vacuum leak, or worse, your intake manifold is not sealed properly to the head. You are getting excess air into the manifold. You did right by trynig to cover the intake side of the TB. normally it should have stumbled or killed the engine. check your vacuum lines going to the manifold.

If it's really bouncing hard, the plugs for the IACV and the purge control might be switched. I don't remember if they're similar on the EF, but I know on OBD1 cars you can mix them up.
