Default idle problem

i have a ej1 with a z6 motor. the idle bounces from 900-1600 after about a minute after start up til the car turns off. i changed the iac twice and changed the t/b. the top hole in the t/b has a leak, u can hear the air being sucked. if i cover the hole with my finger the idle goes normal also the car used to be auto now manuel and theres a auto p28. what could it be? thanks.

What he ^ is saying is that you have a vacuum leak. That is most certainly the cause of the hunting idle you describe.

My D16Y7 has a vacuum leak but it is a mistery.....

Remove and clean the fast idle valve.

Isn't there a rubber seal(s) between the IACV and throttle body? Could a problem with that rubber seal be the source of your leak.

Okay, what does the top hole of the TB serve? If it is the IACV, then look for a leak in the air passage way that connects the two.

Alternatively, is there possibly trapped air or a blockage in the IACV coolant hose that is preventing proper coolant flow through the IACV?

Finally, might you have a problem with the IACV circuit?

I'm not sure if this will help but, you might want to try bleeding the coolant. That cured my idle bounce.
