Default New RSX tips and such

Hi everyone. I'm a newby as I just got my 2004 RSX on Saturday.

Anyway, the car was delivered without the owners manual. It's on order, but in the mean time, is there anything I need to know ASAP as I start driving the car? I know that there is a 600 mile break in on the motor and 300 on the brakes.

Thanks!

Pat

Default Also...set the clock?

Also, if someone could tell me how to set the clock, that would be great!

Regardless of how you bed in the pads/rotors, it probably won't make much difference. Just follow the manual if in doubtr and go easy for the first 100 miles or so.

As for break-in, just drive casually for the first 600 miles and no vtec. Although with mine I did my procedure a little different, but that's what the manual recommends.

As for clock, I guessed on that one. Not too hard to figure out.

Since the break in was brought up i have a question. I didnt really pay attention to it, and stomped on the gas pretty good in my base a few times before the first couple hundred were up. I only took it to 6k a couple times. I was still a lil new to the manual so i didnt go any higher. I have 23k now and it seems ok. Belts are chirping a lil but thats it. Not sure if its normal or not. I know 4 bangers tend to make noises. Could i have done any damage to it internally that might come to light a few miles down the road?

They say you should break in.....I also hear that new cars dont have to break in....But what I do know 100% is that tech's at honda/acura dealerships bone the **** out on the cars they sell before they sell em to you...I know a couple of techs at several dealerships who have said they have done this...So I'm guessin it's cool...As long as you're not entering your DC or EP in an autoX event the day after you buy it....
