Anybody got a flywheel? (56K watch out)
My flywheel and clutch got killed in my H23VTEC, can't really understand why. Here's some pics..
if anyone knows how to resize them, let me know. I have no idea how.
I was wondering if a stock H22 or H23 flywheel and cltuch would be able to handle 215+ whp. If anyone has any clutch recommendations let me know.

First question is who did the work? More than anything else, they didn't torque it down or the torque wrench is coming out of spec. More than a few guys on this board have hit 215whp without going for some crazed clutch. Exedy sport disc are good and inexpensive. Other obvious candidates are CM and ACT but they're real expensive and a little overkill for 215. This happened to me too, and I only have 191 whp so it's not power that's doing the damage. In my instance, it was a shitty shop that did me in and it took me a little less than two months to fix everything, sorry to hear about your bad luck. FYI, helms says to replace the bolts that hold your trans to motor and the flywheel obviously unrepairable. Fidanza wheels are the exact same thing as CM but a whole lot cheaper. That's what I got, did a side by side comparo and couldn't tell a single difference, even the pilot bearing is the same. I also loctitied those fly wheel bolts in.
I'm being told that the flywheel can be saved and am looking to buy a used Exedy organic disc from a fellow h-t user.
My mechanic also suspects negligence but I've also been told of other people having the same problem with this.

flywheel bolts backing out isn't all that uncommon, but next time you tourque them use allittle head resistance locktite,
i don't know but 215whp on a stock clutch might be alittle more than i would want to put it thru, it might slip in the top end where you ahve the most trq
