I dont know if anyone read any of my other posts, like the one I had about getting pulled over for modified exhaust, but my question is what if I kept the piping at 2.36 from the cat back and then had a type r muffler welded on? How quiet would this setup be, compared to stock? OR if I were to use an s2000 muffler?

 

I have a ITR cat back and its a little bit louder than stock.

 

I have complete R system and it is perfect... nothing like oem (for me anyway)

 

is it noticeable by cops?

 

nope man... it looks like stock!!!!

 

It's barely louder. Sounds real clean and smooth.

 

or, u can get an rs-r. the one i got is quiet.

 

why dont u get a apex WS? if u want to quiet

yup, exactly what this guy said. i didn't have a resonator when i ran mine and it sounded nasty

nope.. direct fit.

quiet. it's only like a .5db louder than a regular ls/rs/se/gs/gsr muffler

 

Your downsizing the exhaust. Not a good idea. Get something with a 2.36 or larger inlet.

 

the itr has less 'bling' since its painted flat black and cheaper for someone on a budget.

 

and people in the ITR forum has made 200whp with the OE exhaust.

 

Here in So. CA where cops are dicks...

I swapped out my 2.5" custom exhaust for an ITR catback. I don't really care about performance loss as I have my 3" e-cutout. Anyhow, several days ago with my cutout fully closed, a cop kept on tailgating me probably running my plates. After a few minutes, I switch lanes and he just passes by...*PHEW for me (I'd hate to get pulled over and have my hood popped)*

Prior to this when I was still N/A, I've gotten' 2 exhaust tickets, both of which cost over $100.

I can tell you that the ITR muffler is a restrictive muffler since it is chambered, etc. You will lose slight performance, but it will be barely noticable.
