B20a/vtec pics
I was wondering if anybody has ever done a b20a/vtec swap and has pictures? I have seen the ludespeed setup and they couldn't seem to keep there's running. I have heard people say that they have seen this setup but I want to know if anybody has pics to prove it.

its a b20a he is talking about, which comes in the 3rd gen ludes 88-89... b20b and b20z are the engine codes for the CRV motors.
HMM its interesting, but the b20a and b21a dont have too much in common with the rest of the Bseries family which is probably why they are having so many problems.

**** I say if ou really want a b20/vtec to just get a b20b or b20z n a b16 head, motor mounts would prove to be the difficult part. A b21 tranny should bolt right up to the b20b/z block.
or u could just h22 it. nothing like starting with a stock motor for reliability.

Pulls hard all the way to 11k, jdm b20a tranny w/ an ITR lsd modded to fit the b20 ring gear. You will have to sign up to view the pics though, sorry.
o yeah by the way here is a link of it turboed

I thougth that at least one person on here would want to know how it was done. I've read a lot of threads where people say it not possible. I thought that there would be some more interest than this. Should I move this to a different forum?
It is cool that you did do it but you have so many mods that are custom it sounds DAMN expensive to replicate. Pics is what I would be interested in. MMMM Internals.

It wasn't really that expensive. It cost about the same as building any other engine. The hardest part was probably the head gasket and modding the head to fit the block. I don't have any pictures of the internals but I do have the pics of it all assembled. Maybe some time next month I can dyno it. If I do I'll post it. I can't prove that it's a built bottom end, but is a stock b20a bottom end going to handle 11k plus rpm's and a 75 shot? Probably not.
Actually I'm interested, and must say, I give you props. I have an 89 4WS Si with the stock B20A5. I'm not ready for an engine swap, as I'm partial to what I have now. I have a question though, if you don't mind. I'm planning on boosting, so I"m going through the steps to strengthen my setup. I've heard through several sources that 460cc injectors are a reliable size for my engine, and future modifications. Did the swap last night with disappointing, yet not surprising results. The computer will not lean out the mixture enough, and even with the timing advanced she's dumping. We're talking tear gas from the tail pipe here. Any suggestions on how to lean her out more until I install the turbo, or did I jump the gun with this mod?
You need some way to compensate for the bigger injectors, like an safc. Most ecu's can only compensate for about a 10% increase in injector size, and you have way more than that.
Thats' what I figured, actually. I do feel like I jumped the gun on this mod, but it's not my daily driver so back to the drawing board. It's not too much trouble do you have any suggestions or links for a good safc? Thanks for the help.
