OT: lexan windows and NHRA & IDRC classes
i have been doing some thinking about using Lexan windows in my Integra. My one of my main concerns is will it allow me to run in the street classes still. i have checked with IDRC and they tell me it is legal as long as its behind me which it fine. I only plan to do the rear quarters and hatch. My question is now that the NIRA by the NHRA was bought out does anyone know the ruling on the use of lexan in this racing series? I dont even know the classes yet but i plan to run the equivilent of what was the Power 4 class in the NIRA. I will probably run on MT ET STreets and stay in the street classes. So anyway is lexan approved in the new NHRA Import Racing Series?

All the rules are listed on their site...might not be the answer that you're looking for, but it is something you should have a copy of.

yeah i checked there and even downloaded the rules. The problem is I dont have the Acrobat Reader to look at them. I have been trying to download it for 3 days but the site is too busy. I think i can but i want to make sure.
Nope, Here's a quote from the rulebook:
Windshield and all windows must remain OEM safety glass.
You also need a rollbar in compete in that class, just so you know.

yes u need to have OEM glass. and the car must be registered and have a muffler the car basically has to able to drive on the street.
Heres is a little bit from the IDRC 2002 rulebook. Where are you getting your info?
Glass
All Street Class vehicles must maintain the factory glass in windshield and front door locations. Lexan may be used for rear hatch and all non-rollup windows except windshield and front doors.
This is what i plan to do. My question is can i also do this in the new NHRA series?

All Classes allow Lexan with a minimun of 1/8th thickness EXCEPT the Street tire which requires you to maintain all OEM windows.

Hers the link to the street class. This is the class your talking about right? Did the change the rules from last year, this is the 2002 rules. Im a little confused being that lexan is street legal if it is behind you. I jsut signed up for a membership so im assuming that they will send me the latest rulebook.

I have converted the entire classification rules to word.....would you like them and the generals in email?
Edit: Just keep in mind they aren't as pretty as the Acrobat.

You've got mail
Would have done this sooner but didn't have Acrobat loaded on my home PC.
Edit: I can also try and convert it to an Image if you want to see it in the pretty format
