Default Anybody here Daily Drive their NSX?

I'll probably get a used 91-94 NSX in 6mos or so. But theres a trade off: this will be my only car to commute and drive. Besides theft and mantinance, what problems have you encounted daily driving an NSX?

I don't see anything wrong with having an NSX as a daily driver. Probably easier than driving an S2000 everday.

I daily drive my NSX. Biggest issue you'll face, if you lower it a lot, is ground clearance. And the seat bolsters are probably the only part of the car that's not up to heavy use. But good leather care habits might fix that. I wouldn't know, cuz my bolsters were already cracking/splitting when I got my car at 50k miles.

Plus I'm sure the FAQ has lots of good details.

Bottom line is, it's an awesome car, and if you have one, you'll want to drive it all the time.

The 91-92's go through tires somewhat rapidly because of the aggressive alignment specs, just have it aligned to '93 specs.

The biggest problems I've had were clearing driveways and always checking to see if the NSX was alright. I try not to drive it everyday, especially in the winter, b/c of my friggin lead foot. But it's a blast to drive and enjoy every minute of it.

Now for that supercharger. . .

NSX's are easy to drive (just like any other honda), very reliable too. like others said if you lower it, than watch the front nose. otherise no issues. there are couple of nice nsx forsale in the NSX recently. one is a 92 (or 93) with lots of mods, full comptech suspension, comptech SC, brembo brakes... only 28k miles, owner is asking 55k. pretty good deal. non modded cars are going for 25-30k and if you get lucky some are well kept and really clean.

my friend just installed the Titac center exhaust with rear diffuser on his nsx, man it sounds REALLY nice. much better than the comptech exhaust. can't wait to take it to the track again.

It's pretty unusual to find a well-kept, mint, moderate-mileage manual-tranny NSX for under about $32-34K, maybe $31K if you're really lucky. Virtually all NSX's that go for under $30K are either not well-kept, and/or have automatic, and/or have high miles (over 80-100K), and/or have a title problem, and/or have an accident history. Believe me, I know too many people who have been looking, and looking, and looking, without finding a nice car in this price range.

OTOH, low thirties is a pretty good deal for a moderate-miles (say 30-60K) '91 NSX.

Finding a good NSX w/o problems or high mileage (and that's not necessarily a bad thing) for around 25K is almost impossible. Even most high mileage NSX's (100K) plus are at the lowest 28K. Although right now, we're definitely in a buyer's market.

Yep I totally agree, coming from a guy that drives both cars every other day. Actually, my Zanardi is a rougher rider than your usual NSX due to tighter suspensions, so the S2000 is a much softer ride compare to the Z and therefore easier on your ***. However though, the cramped quarters, engine noise level, and the tight bucket seats makes the S2000 much more unattractive overall comfort and I think you're better off with a standard NSX, if you don't mind shelling out hell lot more dough for maintenance costs for it that is (if and ONLY if they do become a problem, which really depends on your driving style and the overall mileage you've logged in of course ) hmm.... I think you should forgo the NSX and get yourself an S2000 instead...... Um Hmm.......... yep..

I've always wondered what happened to the Zanardi cars.

Nice!

Twin turbos alone won't give you that kind of hp. And if you DO want to build it up, there are a whole lot more things you're going to need to swap out. Nice to hear you've got an extra $40-75K to spend on mods...
