special banjo bolt - fuel filter - cant undo? any idea's?
I cannot undo the bolt on the fuel filter, does anyone have any idea's? I haven't tried a breaker bar but thought id ask the question incase anyone knows it has a reverse thread? Thanks in advance
If you are trying to put a gauge in there, well, first off thats not the best place for it.
The bolt uses standard thread. Make sure you put a wrench on the fuel filter itself (top) to take alot of the stress off the fuel line. I have broken a fuel line by not doing this.

did u relive the pressure by open the gas cap? do that and get a wrench and hold it at the neck of the filter that will help also and a breaker bar also will help

beat me to it.
beat me to it.
Ive relieved the pressure by opening the filler cap, I have dropped the whole fuel tank as im replacing the pump.
The bolt does not have a standard head, it is more of an oval with 2 straight edges. Anyone know of the bolt I mean (17mm)? This means you cant put an impact wrench on it.
I may cut the hose and insert a joiner, although its not ideal it seems my only option. then with it being away from the fuel lines I could torch it.. then give it a whack...

Does it look like this??

Use this socket from MAC tools to get that bolt off. Part number on the socket is H0 018 and its made by AST. I'm sure other companies make it. It helps save a lot of knuckle busting and bolt striping.
