Honda Accord 2003-2005 Stereo Install Questions
Hello,
I have a couple of questions that are Accord specific regarding stereo installation.
1. Where are you guys running the wire through the firewall to connect your amp to the battery? I had a 1994 accord that had an entrance close to the clutch but I don't see anything similar in my 2005. I found the hole where all others are being routed but it looks like I would have to take out the entire dash to get to that area. Is there a good place to drill or another entrance through the firewall?
2. Also, when replacing the head unit I had a hell of a time getting the flip-up storage container out. When putting in the aftermarket "sleeve" do I have to take out the factory radio? If so, how do I do it? How am I going to connect the factory wiring harness to the aftermarket harness? Will the clock and display still illuminate after I disconnect the wiring harness from OEM to aftermarket stereo?
Thanks in advance.

Uh.. ya. The point of the sleve is to house the new radio. Insert the new radio into the sleeve and then it all gets slid into where the previous radio was. (after you have gone and gotten a wire harness adapter, which connects to the factory harness and spiced to the new harness.)

Sorry, I think I might have confused you. I don't plan on using the original factory location for the new stereo. It will be mounted in the space below ( I don't plan on using the Metra kit: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-f...97864
Hence, the stock stereo won't need to be removed. Anyways, disregard, I think I figured it out. Thanks for your help though.
