Things Have to change.
I am now getting pissed and aggravated with all these horrible posts, Such as cross posting cause the other forums don't help out their kind, posting items for sale where they don't belong, the use of profanities, the lack of care, the lack of Mods who invest time and interact with the members, Not to mention the ridiculous spelling errors and grammar borts.
I am not perfect by any means but I take pride on what I type and try to keep my posts on topic.
There is a list of mods for the ITR forum that has so many names, but I only see one or two from time to time.. Can we ask that they step in and help out, maybe even remove them and get someone else who is willing to try?
Honestly I see why so many Veteran Posters have sold off the R and not come back here. The good conversation that used to be here is long gone and I can't see it coming back with out a :Iron Fist:.
Time to make a move, for the sake of H-T I think this needs to be done quick.
Some Ideas...
Severe point reduction to those who blatantly abuse a rule, Fug the 1% , 10% would make a e-thug think.
Moderate point reduction for those who curse/ use profanities toward someone.
Placing something that just does not belong here should get 25 % off.
If more then 4 Old school members click the report thing, then lets see some quick reactions, and not have a post run-a-muck.
How about not letting any new member under a 2 months post in the ITR forum, seeing how there is such a hate both on the streets and Internet against the R, lets try to weed out the week?
And then these posts where people try to get GBs going for there own personal gain... Once it has been decided that this is the course of their path, Ban them from the ITR forum.
On the same note if there is a GB for specific ITR parts then that should be allowed.
I'm sure there is a ton more that I could go in to but I think my point is clear enough and would like to see some changes, What can I do to Help?

1) That is too extreme. Many members learn their lesson with the 1%
2) Most definately needs to be enforced more strictly as per the TOS.
3)Definately not. A warning will do.
4)Moderators cannot be here 24/7. The forum has to be somewhat self moderated by itself.
5)This is not the only forum with this problem.
6)Proper action does take place.
The biggest help and what many people need to learn is NOT to post in troll/repetitive topics.

It seems more and more topics aren't worth clicking on anymore. Its always the same responses, usually negative. I agree that there needs to be some change, but at the same time, there is no way to stop thet "newb" questions, because not everyone will search, and do the proper reading before asking a question...even if they are a member for four months before they can post here. But I think we should initiate some sort of rules change to eliminate the repeating posters who are constantly replying with the same crap.

-1 for posting in the wrong forum.
Fuggit, Bbasso for mod!
(although I'd be less harsh on the point deductions, I agree they should be used more frequently.)
Sorry GK, we need more moderation. At least move posts that are in the wrong forum, and lock the useless ones a little quicker.

let things be as is.. this forum is same as it was.. in fact much less of dumb stuff that years ago.. just not as many tech posts.. but then again, so many things have been covered... to welcome new people we gotta give them a chance to learn, we all came a long way and didn't know everything at once.
the way i see it this forum recycles itself, although older members gotta take it easy on the new, cause everyone got to learn and discuss same old topic at least once.. unless its something that comes up very often
(same old topic might be old to you, but its not to new member, so let them have it unless its very basic and should really be searched, its best to not reply than reply with search or just let the thread be locked, searching through archives makes it a pain finding topics with search replies)
much restriction will just weed everyone out and change this forum.. everyone should be welcomed or it will die out. this forum will never stay the same, but to improve you gotta let new people in and discussions will increase

i must say that more restrictions will keep more people out, now, enough of old members no longer own itr and don't post here anymore, so new itr owners must fill in to keep things alive, non-welcomed response to basic questions will not improve anything, these asking basic questinos will someday think of something better to ask.. i wasn't much of a car diy when purchased itr, but things sure have changed and much of it is because of honda-tech.. i learned a lot! so i can't be angry about that, i'm sure many others feel the sam way.

Funny that you post regarding these problems. There are alot of useless or near useless threads/posts on here. If you were to eliminate even half of them, there wouldn't be much to talk bout.
What really irks me is how all the "OLD" members who should be helping people out, are the ones who are flaming and posting negative comments to everyone except themselves.

Just make a site for R owners only. Make people send in a copy of their DL, REG, and proof of insurance(for good measure), passport or greencard, birth cert., and all kinds of other lame stuff.
Then, once you know they're a real R owner and not some faker you can invite them to join you and the rest of the losers whos only source of a life is HT.
Actually just make your own site. That way youre the webmaster and the only person posting. Everything will be the way you want.

Although I joined into H-T not too long ago, I also could see some problems raised in this forum. Honestly, I think H-T is the best forum I have seen up to this point, especially the ITR Forum.
I agree that some newbie or let's say new R owners do not know much about their beatiful cars, but they are willing to learn. I was like that too when I first got my JDM R motor. Although I don't own a real R, I really like and proud of driving it everyday.
Searching is a good way to find answers; however, new people do not know how to use it at all, they ended up to create a new thread and ask us. Someone mentioned about it is a cycle, and I totally agree!
R is not an old car, but many have left their R and went to buy something else (either a sportier car or maybe even a SUV or truck due to whatever reason). Therefore, some older guys in here may not be available to answer posts anymore.
So what I am saying here is that we need to give new guys chances. If they ended up asking a lot of stupid questions, which can be found by performing some seaches, we should definitely give them some penalty. However, if that new member is very new and only have asked only couple stupid questions, we should be kind to them and answer whatever questions they have. At the same time, tell and teach them how to do a search.
Sorry for the long post, but those are my thoughts.
Keep this forum happy and friendly

Rob, I understand where you're coming from. But I think things are fine the way they are here, the Hype R forum is just going through one of those cycles of extreme dumbassedness that happens once or twice a year.
Look at the whole "ban 04" movement in GDD - same thing as what we're going through here. Just a massive influx of stupidity that will soon pass.

But for the new members that don't even read the FAQs before they just start asking its kinda annoying, I'm not saying that its wrong to ask- By all means please ask that's what a forum is for, Just use your head and see what we have answered in the past and made note of.
If we did not have the FAQs and jumped down their necks then yes it would be a really poor thing to do.
I say that more points should be taken away for each violation of each rule. Ok maybe not 25% but something to get the point across, and for 1 or 3 % Its not really a deterrent to those who are looking to make trouble.
What about this: If a member reaches a certain %, lets say 75% they are no longer to post in the ITR forum? Not trying to be an elitist but it should be a privilege to post here. But they could get their points back in another part of H-T.
Now as for smart *** remarks that are way not cool, what could be done about that? such as:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by itr#xxxxlives »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">can you guys tell me what my perfect launch rpm is?

Now for 24 hour Mods that should be an easy solution, Look for members that are here at different hours and somewhat responsible and ask them if they would want to help on a part time basis.
All types of decent input on this will help to revive the ITR forum, Please post your ideas, thoughts and comments.

I like to read about cars and MY friends that I have met here and because of H-T. But If I'm not even looking at posts then how do I stay in touch with people that I know?
Now for 24 hour Mods that should be an easy solution, Look for members that are here at different hours and somewhat responsible and ask them if they would want to help on a part time basis.
All types of decent input on this will help to revive the ITR forum, Please post your ideas, thoughts and comments.
i'll admit that lately i've been posting responses that do not necessarily help the thread and it's only because the threads are retarded nowadays and i'm just trying to make it a little more entertaining. i guess things in the ITR forum is based on seniority and that's why people let me slide more often. regardless, i think this phase of people swarming the ITR forum to make a noticeable annoyance will pass as it always does. on the other hand, moderation has become scarce in this forum. :hmm:

Nothing you can do but get some more mods. Stupid nubs dont use the search button because they are too lazy but they have the engery to start a new thread with horrible spelling mistakes (slang and typo's are fine but if no one can bloody understand what you are trying to say its kinda pointless).
4-1-1 for prez.... i mean mod

When dogs want to punish each other, they ignore. It works much better for humans to do this as well, for training purposes.

Hmmm. Imagine that. Another ban the newbe and off topic guys thread. You know I like my R and this is a good resourse to get info, but it's just an online chat forum, nothing more. No-one is creating a new reusable energy source of figuring out how to feed the world or anything mind blowing like that. There are no secret formulas being discussed here.
My R is not my whole life, and the diversity of topics, both on and off are part of what I like about this place. Passing wisdom on to people should make you feel important and needed. Some of you should get off the high horse that you rode in on and open up your parameters of interest a bit.
Some of the best auto chatrooms I frequent have lots of cool stuff that may not be part of the original intent of the thread, but when like minded gear heads get together, usually they wind up discussing many things besides their headers or cams. That's how people get to know each other and become an online familly.
This is the only forum I have ever seen that berates people for asking questions, even dumb ones. No wonder some people think ITR owners have thier heads up their butts, just look how special they think their forum is ( but don't ask them about anything, cause you'll be banned! )
No doubt now i'll be banned ( This may be the only place where free speech is not protected..)
