Default Suggestion on this GSR

Hi. I'm new to this place (I hope I'm posting in the right forum) I'm looking for a car as of now and I have around 6g MAX to spend.. and Integras are one of the more descent looking cars around. I came across this GSR today and emailed the guy.. and I was just wondering what you guys think about it... any suggestions?

yikes 18" tires are gonna be expensive.. i'd probably consider getting something smaller like 16's or 15's even... be sure that when u go to check out the car... especially on red tegs(integras).. make sure the paint isnt turning pink... the mileage is low for a 95.. my teg has 100k miles on it and it's 3 years newer...

hey i dont think its a great deal at all i just bought a 2000 gsr for for about 4,000$ & it has 65000mils on it that is a deal.( though its just a donor car) but the mileage i would have a big issue with that cant be right someone had to have the speedometer unpluged or the gauges have been replaced or something. u got to figure u put at least 10000 a year & thats not alot of miles at all. unless grandma drove to the store & thats about it. but hey i could be wrong, i just know what i see.

good luck, dont let me discourage u, just be carful, oh run the vim it will tell u if its had stuff doen & milage along the way so u have an idea.

Why is the mileage so unbelieveable? I bought my '97 Teg with 50,500 miles. It's at 65, 500 now, after over a year of ownership.

18's'll probably make it feel a bit slower when you drive it, though...

But it *looks* like a good deal. Of course, you'll have to go and check it out for yourself...

Why would you have a "big issue" with the mileage.... that is a 9 year old car. i bought my 95 gsr with actually less miles than that.... some people dont drive a lot of miles or have multiple cars they drive. As you said, u put at least 10,000 miles on a car per year....so 10,000 * 9years = 90,000.... so why is the miles stated a big issue.

And i would like to see this 2000 gsr for 4,000 bucks.

Why must people say **** when they are completly ignorant?

The car sounds like a good deal... have a compression test done and as long as the results are good, you got yourself a nice gsr for a good price.

the price you paid for a totaled/salvaged title reflects what you are getting. its not a great deal as you make it seem. you paid less money, but you also immediately spent time and money repairing it- that doesn't make not a good deal what he's looking at. if everything else is clean and works well with the car, i think its a fair price.

that little damage u see is all of it i drove the car 100 miles from the auction, drives perfectly & is perfect condition. no functional damage ATT ALL its just a twist in the front corner. but they would have to cut the front off to "replace" it but it dont matter. i only paid 2500$ for the car but the total cost was 4000$ to do the whole conversion for all the ups. i bought the car as a donor. i could fix it for no more than 1000$ thats a tottal of 3500$ this is the car im putting everything in.

thanks for the suggestions guy... but the guy said that it was salvaged and repainted.. I'm not that picky but my dad's paying for it (I'm 19 and 5-6g's is quite alot to scrape up).. I'm looking for a clean one and I don't mind over 100k mileage... although it be nice if it was under it.

I know this is the INTEGRA section and I hate to start another topic so I like to ask here... would you guys say the INTEGRA or the 4th gen. PRELUDE has more interior? I'm a big guy (210lbs; 5'9.5'') and I've driven Integras before, so would anyone have any suggestions? opinions? Searching for a car sure takes alotta patience...

The integra has more useable interior room than the Prelude, I would say. One of my roommates who is 6'3" 240lbs. used to drive a 95 GSR, and he fit much better in that car than he did in my other roommate's 2000 Prelude. Also, in the Prelude, you might fit fine, but there is no room for a passenger in the rear seat if you have the seat pushed back at all. Rear head room is better in Preludes than in the GSR coupes though.

I bought a salvage integra that was superchargered and pimped for 4700 and had to alittle work to get it running right spent about $500 just sold it for $10,500 and it only cost $50 to get salvage inspected, but i didn't even get it inspected was suppossed to on Friday November 12 but my dad screwed me. But a salvage car isn't all bad it is a little risky but you might get lucky.

I got my '96 GS-R last May with 74,600 miles on it. Perfectly clean title too.

BTW, I fit in the Integra fine, and I'm 6'0 175. You'll fit in the car fine.

best bet is to actually get the car checked out.

ads are jsut there to grab ur attention. but here, u always gotta get them checked form ur local mechanic, or the numerous companies that send out people to do a check with fine comb. gl

Compared to me you are rather small. And I fit in my teg. Granted the seat is all the way back and the head room leaves much to be desired. But hey just recline it a little bit and I fit perfect. So I'm sure you won't have too much of an issue. When I'm at the track I scoot the seat up and track officials won't let you recline your seat so I look pretty retarded in my car. All kinda squished up. Even with all that I still fit fairly comfortably.

hmm. Thanks for the suggestions.. I thought the prelude would've provided more room since it does look a little bigger. I guess not. I've been in the 5th gen. ludes before and the back seats were horrible. So, from what I'm reading, it'll be a better fit if I consider the integ>lude (I'm almost like a taxi driver.. I drive people all the time; and I just wanna be a little considerate [althought I don't have to be, right? ] )
And like I mentioned before, I don't have a big problem with a Salvaged title but I'm not the one with the $_$.

hey man i searched for almost 9 months before i found my great deal. but i think u should be a little patient & look good & try to stay away from dealerships. they want to much. thats a plain fact. na-mean. i found my car through autotrader.com & the car i went & looked at ( 1999 ls man with 54000miles for only 4500$ perfect conidtion) wasnt what i wanted but the guy found one for me. & called me about it. & i got it. so just be patient if u can it will pay off. remember dealerships aint no deal.

good luck.
