More progress on the Mo-Fo...
Front end is done:
sorry one of those pics is sideways... Anyway, you can see new parts, Cobalt pads, new rotors, hubs, etc. The only thing you can't see is the pimpy radius rod bushings.

I also installed the Fidanza flywheel and the Spec clutch. Hmmm. The Tranny is now attached to the engine. Yeah.

The only bummer is that as I was torquing down the old crappy starter, my torque wrench crapped out. I hope it was still accurate when I tightended down the clutch and flywheel
Of note, a 24mm socket is the perfect size to hammer in the pilot bearing in the flywheel.
Next, I need a couple of warm bodies to come help me put the engine in the thing. I could do it myself with the book, but I would really prefer to have someone here who has done this before. That would save me a lot of time, and hopefully avoid some common pitfalls. The offer is still free beer (good stuff, not bud
) and pizza; and a bed to sleep in should a volunteer overindulge.

might i suggest that since the engine and tranny are still not within the car that if you are truly concerned about flywheel/pp being torqued properly you disassemble and recheck? it's a lot easier to do it now then after you just threw away an entry fee and race weekend.
otherwise, looks good.

yeah, that's the plan. I'll problaby also pick up a new starter, it's so easy to change now, and since I don't know if the one I have will even work...
anyone else available tentatively this sunday?
anyone else available tentatively this sunday?
thanks to the kind souls of .RJ and Littleton, the ***** will be getting its heart transplant this sunday afternoon - and as much other crap as we can get done.
Heartfelt thanks in advance to these two volunteers. If anybody else wants to join in on the fun, IM me for directions.
Sebastien, getting the phone number to rent a hoist, buy a new torque wrench, some good beer, pizza, etc...
