Default Short ram or cold air for stock ex

Short is for lower rpms I hear. Where believe it or not, is where I do most of my driving. With vtec coming on at higher rpms I think that sort of compensates, right?

here is a dyno, cold air intake vs. short ram i know its hard to see but dark lines are cold air and red lines are short, imo i would def go with a cold air intake.

Figure out how to get cold air to your short ram Might have to do some body fabrications that would be inexpensive or just rip some plastic panels off.

stock ex? Do you even have vtec? Anyway, my intake temps dropped almost 20 degrees on the dyno with a cold air. (while accelerating from 3k to 8800 )

I have the AEM short ram on my stock ex and the only reason i got it over the cold air was beacause various sources told me the short ram has more throttle response and makes alil more tq than the cold air...plus its cheaper!

well actually that dyno was from AEM and its not that acurate. It is their CAI vs. a generic brand short ram. I would love to see their CAI vs just the Short ram (with no extension on the CAI). I do run a CAI but i heard the same thing as you guys, a short ram makes more tq, so like VTECDA9 said, make a cold air box for the short ram..thats the best way...

There's some misunderstanding here about short ram vs. CAI. Unless the intake it replaces is demonstrably more restrictive, there is NO advantage of a shorty ram at all. In fact, shorty rams are pretty much guaranteed hp losers because they take in hot underhood air unless they are plumbed for cold air (hmm...doesn't that then make it a CAI?).
