i got a 1990 honda crx and i am wanting to do a engine swap but really dont know what to put in it can i have some help.. i am wanting to drive it on the street when i want to i dont want it to be just a drag car. but i would like to run 12s or 11s in it thanks everyone

 

Well first you need to decide if you want to go all motor or turbo, nitrous. There are too many possibilities. Let us know what you prefer and then people can help you more. also, how much are you looking to spend?

i am looking to put a turbo on it looking to spend about 2000 to 2500 to start out on the project but over more time i know more money will go in it.. also another question can u run turbo and nos at the same time always thought about it

12's and 11's? That's a 400whp drag car my freind. Yes you can run turbo and nitrous if your block is built to take it. It's probably going to cost you. $2.5K-$3K for the swap alone since I don't believe you're even going to attempt it yourself unless you can afford the downtime to learn as you go. for cheapness and simplicity stick with something OBD0 you're going to have to rebuild it anyway for what you're looking for.

 

built ls block, ls head and custom turbo kit should get you there. you dont nessecarily need that much hp to run 12s or 11s, just driving skill and a good setup will get you there with 250 whp. deffinatly easy to go fast with a turbo ls in an ef.

 

If you're going to be doing the swap yourself, why not a d15b vtec? they're pretty quick, and cheap too. Easiest swap in my opinion; probably your best bet. Definately not gonna run 12's, but they're still fun! If you've got the money though, I'd probably stay B-series. I'm poor, so my d15b's just fine with me

Just set your sights on the V-8 mustang instead :D.

 

thats not true at all you can run down those cars for less then ten easily, gsr swap 3200, custum turbo 1500, 10 psi stock block you will be just as fast or faster then ferraris, and thats only 4700, and if he wants to build the bottom end for another 1500 which will make 6200 he can run more boost and have no problem with any of those cars my friend was running stoclk block ls turbo and his car was sbout even with corvettes

 

Go b16 or grs to start with then what you want from there.250 hp with 190to 210 of torque is more then you need for the streets anything over 300hp in an EF is just not that much fun trust me.Sounds like this is going to be your daily driver so just try to put 250 hp that will get you in the 12's close to 11's
