Default milling d15b head

i am going to get my head milled but i am curious on how far i can take it before it causes any problems, excluding timing issues. i will also be using the y8 metal head gasket and an ajustable cam gear. i belive timing is reatrted 1 deg. for every 12thousanths off the head, correct me if im wrong. what compression should i end up with , stock is 9.2:1

i think .030 is a safe limit . there are some valves out there for all motor set ups . there flat . that would help bump the compression . and take the center layer out of the y8 head gasket. oh yea .012 is 1 degree

try 1 degree advance per .012"

if youre gonna mill that much and/or remove gasket layers i surely hope you intend to clay the engine.

there has been many others run this same setup with no prblems but claying the motor is still a smart thing to do . better to be safe than sorry.

.030 is a good slice to take off, u have to be carefull, that motor already has slightly higher comp then a d16, so a move more the .030 might make u detonate/knock on 91 octane...

no i guaranteee it would not knock if i got it up to 10.5:1 because the ecu in it now makes it run incredibly rich and thats why i want to raise compression. i bet shaving of.030 wont make it above 9.8 with that gasket

you need to retard the timing when you shae the head, it makes the timing advance when you take off.

you advance the cam timing when you mill the head.....i milled my z6 head .040 and it put me just under 10.0:1 c/r, wish i knew about the zc pistons before i did it.

honda engines rotate counter clockwise. when you mill the head, the slack in the belt lets the cam gears go clockwise (retard). the camshaft itself needs to be turned counterclockwise while the gear body remains stationary to correct. this is advance.
