VTEC doesn't seem to kick as hard as I think it should and power is seeming to drop off quickly in 1st and 2nd gear after 6500RPMS (not like it's in safe mode...it's like VTEC isn't there anymore but only in the first 2 gears). So I've seen posts about cleaning out the screen when having VTEC issues.

My question is will a partially clogged screen make VTEC cams feel less powerful? Wondering if it'd be worth cleaning it...

 

maybe your getting used to the motor? Have a friend drive it while your in the passenger seat and see how it feels.

 

Yeah you get used to the power and it doesn't feel so strong anymore.(especially if you always hit the V. )Try not to get into VTEC for like 2 or 3 days and see if it feels diffrent.

 

I remember when i got vyec, I was just like a pig in ****. after a while i got use to the pull. so it maybe that. Also check your oil level. When i use to lag that was the first thing I check because vtec dose consume oil.

 

This is only in the first 2 gears though. It feels strong in 3rd higher up in the rpms...
