Default 1995, GSR, 314K, light rear end damage - $1200...Good deal?

Just like the topic says.

A local guy is selling his 1995 GSR, not sure on the color or 2/4 door, but he said it's got leather, an extra set of rims with Blizzak tires, 314K of which most are highway miles commuting to work, and all the dealer service records (said he had about 150 oil change receipts).

Apparently he was rear ended and the hatch doesn't latch shut, so he's buying a RSX type S. He needs a new car ASAP that locks because he keeps high dollar work equipment in his car.

I assume he got an insurance check and pocketed it.

Think this is a good deal? Depending on the extent of the damage (I assume it's light to moderate) I could probably part the thing out for a profit.

What do you guys think?

alot of miles IMO..
if you want to part it plan on spending a good amount of time in labor and in shipping.

depends what floats your boat. if you're quick about parting out and know alot of contacts you can sell to for a good profit go for it. I personally wouldn't though.

dunno if it would be good to part, its might be hard to sell the engine with 300k+ on it. I dont see getting a ton of money for the interior, parting may allow you t break even. On the otherhand, if its easilly fixed, and otherwise in good shape, it doesnt sound like a bad car to put some time and a fresh motor into.

Glad to see GSR's have made it that far If its only cosmetic I would do it. Even if you keep it as a fun beater car.

I should also mention I have a non-vtec B20B in my Integra (94, considerabley freshend), so I could always swap in the head.

1200 bucks, for a OBD1 head, ECU, and disributor...not too bad.

Plus, I could sell ofF the rest of the parts. I'm sure I could make my money back off the complete suspension, tranny, short block, and blade rims.

hrmm. I'll update everyone tomorrow when I go look at it, and get some pics.

I think I'll drive it the winter, and pull the head in the spring.

Can you say "CRVTEC"?

Keep looking....

I got my Milano red gsr (94) for 1900 with only 195k miles, clear title, and have never been wrecked.

No body damage other than normal dents.

Still has high miles, but the body and clear title was worth every bit of the money i spent.

Is this your only car, or is it getting beater status?

This car would be my winter beater. That's why the included blizzaks on steelies sweeten the deal.

This is my daily driver. Going into storage for the winter. Can't fit winter rims over the AEM rotors...

I wouldn't buy it sight unseen, although when I got to the guys house to test drive it, he said a gentleman from St. Louise called and was going to fly in and drive it home.

The thing runs and drives perfect. There is some damage to the rear hatch, nothing I can't fix though. It's a red two door, like the one I have now. The paint is heavily oxidized, and the wheel well rust is bad as well, but it's a 1200 dollar winter beater GSR. Can't go wrong there.
