Default whats wrong with my short shifter?????

I got a short shifter for christmas and installed it, its a DC sports shifter. And it shifts fine in normal driving but when i floor it in first and want to shift into second fast it wont let me. I have to let the engine rev down to get it into second. Anyone have the same problem??? What should i do?

PS hope everyone had a great christmas

what up dude, you probably know my bro brad. Well i got the same problem in my Ef, but its going into 3rd. Its most likely your synchros, which can get out of shape after some hard driving. Do you hear a crunching noise sometimes? it probably happened because of shifting too fast. I have a neuspeed short shifter too, short shifter shorten the length of your throw, but it doesnt make your car shift gears faster. this is what wears your synchros. merry christmas.

Motor mounts are shot. That or shifter fork was toast to begin with.

Short shifters are a cosmetic item.

ur shifting too fast. u cant just ram the gear in when the speed is not right. well, actually u can cuz u have a syncro tranny. but there is a limit of what sncros can do. so shift slower and put it in when it wants to go in.

Keep the short shifter and get new synchros. The synchros themselves won't be expensive to replace... the labor to take the tranny out is what will cost you. Unless you're mechanically-savvy enough to take out the tranny yourself... then just bring it to a transmission shop.

Oh, before you do all of that. Is there a lot of play in the shifter? If so, it maybe be loose on the fork. A short shifter should make for a crisp shift.
