Default 97 B18c into 2000 ek... few questions?

I picked up a 1997 b18c (very clean) it's going into my 2000 hatch.

My hatch currently has a 2000 b16a2 in it. (SI harness)

1st question is.. The ecu I’m running currently is 2000 si ecu.. OBD2B
The ecu I got with the ITR is OBD2a (p73)

1: How can I make this ecu work in my car??
2: People have told me they make obd2b to obd2a conversion harness??
3: I'm good at wiring any way I could wire this??
4: I don’t want to convert to obd1!

2nd question is.. I noticed on the ITR intake manifold it has a sensor which I believe is the IAP sensor? (Intake air pressure sensor?) Then I noticed on my b16 there is no sensor?

1: When I run the ITR ecu is it going to look for this sensor? Do I need to hard wire it in?
2: Is this sensor located some place else on a b16? Or does it even have one??

Thanks guys I would really appreciate some tips on these small problems.. Or maybe some urls. Thanks allot!

thats the intake air temp sensor. on the b16 motor its connected to the intake tubing connecting between the airbox and the throttle body. as far as the wiring sure you could repin the connectors yourself. just look arround for the pinouts for the two and make the needed adjustments.

that ecu is not good for your setup. You could sell it and get the proper P72 to run the GSR from an OBD2b. Then you will not need to repin your stock harness, only add wires to activate the IAB solenoid, that is the so-called "sensor" on the manifold that your B16 does not have. It's also why your P73 won't work right on the GSR.

Unless you use a GSR computer, the secondary intake runners won't open and you'll lose power. Plus the ITR computer will active the VTEC at least 1000rpms later than the GSR cams are supposed to come on.

I think hes got a b18c jdm typr r motor as he says it came with a type r ecu and a type r intake manifol. Could be wrong. wouldnt be the first time soneone didnt even know what they had.

Post some pics of your motor and itll be easier to help you out as we can be sure exactly what were dealing with.

Ah I see...if in fact he does have the Type R then what I said before it moot. I didn't catch the part about the manifold, just the ecu...and assumed it was the C1.

No it's a full complete long block 1997 JDM Integra Type R B18c

the only reason I got a long block is because I have a 98 JDM itr tranny on the b16.

yeah then its the intake air temp sensor and you can repin the ecu clips yourself yourself

I tried to repin the 99-00 Si wiring harness, but I couldn't do it. The blue and gray connectors use different size pins.

BTW, just extend your IAT sensor over to the intake manifold. Good Luck

So could I cut the old sensor off the ITR harness & wire it into the SI??

and about the ecu? should I look for a 99 spec jdm itr ecu?
or what?

Cut the IAT off the Si and solder on the one from the ITR to make it longer. You can look for an ECU, but I think it would just be easier to get an OBD2b to OBD2a ECU jumper, about $175 from what I've seen.

or you could just cut and solder wires if you really wanted to save the money. for the sensor wire just extend the wires on the connector. it will plug right in.

a different ecu wont do anything for you. get the conversion harness if that the direction youre headed.
