Default B16a1 or B16a2?

I know this question has prolly been asked a million times, but can someone explain to me ALL of the differences not just the hp and price. I want to put a b16 in my 99 civic ex and realize that the b16a2 will prolly be easier but it costs a lot more. Any suggestions or info will be very helpful. Thnx.

That's kinda rough dude.
B16a came out of a XSI, it's obd 0 so you can just plug it in and go(and wire for vtec) it came with about 168 hp and 111lb/ft of torque. Price can depend on alot of things, i got my b16a XSI with YS1 tranny, pw0 ecu, axels, shift linkage and shipped to me, for 1600$.
The 2nd gen one came out of a CRX Si-R and it had 170hp....
It usually comes with a hydro tranny, so it's a little more difficult and it's OBD 1, so more conversions for wiring.

i don't have that one so i'm not sure about some stuff. but you are gonna get flamed. Try google. It has a bunch of sites devoted just to the engine.

for the 1st gen: http://www.integra.orcon.net.nz/
for the 2nd gen: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...46098

hope it helps dude.

get the b16a2. it will be better in the long run becus it is a hydro tranny which ur car is set up for and the b16a2 is a newer motor. if u get different OBD motor than ur car u have to deal with wiring. so u can get any motor basically but its more work. well good luck
