Default b18a rods pistons into b16a

My built ls's crank took a dive and I don't want to wait on a machine shop to fix my crank because afterall they have already messed up my engine anyways. I have however a spare b16 motor that I bought to hold me over and I remembered that the bore for the LS and B16's is the same the only difference is the stroke, so these rods and pistons will fit my b16, RIGHT!? That's my question, will my rods and pistons fit my b16, everything is standard bore......

thanks for all the help......

The stroke is different because of ONLY the crank, right!? Because if you changed the length of the rods, you first off make them weaker, and secondly you would run into clearance issues. The deck height changes based on the crank.

So, since the pistons are the same bore (81mm) then in theory you could put those rods and pistons on that (b16) crank.

I have JE pistons and eagle rods that I would love to drop in there!!!!

Somebody confirm this for me! I've already got the b18 broke down and i'm gonna start the b16 today and then I'll do the exchange.

Somebody has had to run into this situation before!

Alrighty then

you need a LS crank and you can make it work! You need LS rods, crank, and use the B16 Pistons! Do a search this has been done before!

You would have to take out your oil squirters and then you'd have to cut a wedge out of the bottom of the sleves so the rods don't hit it. You'll also need a custom piston with a relocated rist pin. Thats all folks.

False

Maybe, depends on application. B16 parts into LS, shouldn't but compression would be really low due to short stroke and taller deck height of B18 block. LS parts into B16, then your pistons will be out the hole. Just have to do your math!

Is the LS BE bearing width the same as a B16 BE? I recall no. That would not make them a direct swap.
