did serch, and still need help!
I have a 97 GS, and just picked up a used but in great condition comptech header. the header came off a 98 gsr! on the header there is a o2 sensor right before the cat. Will this thing match up to my current stock cat and exhust? or will I have to buy a 98gsr cat to make it fit? I am willing to buy a hiflow cat if I have to! I just want some more power out of this little ls.
thanks alot,
and once again I did search, but on the 15 pages I read didn't get me what I needed, or maybe i missed it.
Flame away if you want

ok....im not sure comptec make different size of collector for their header or not...but most likely they do make some
is ur comptech header collector has donut? or flat flange
u need to measure the collector of comptech (end of the header) and unbolt ur cat...and measure it...
jack up your car unbolts cat and header, pull the cat down...stick a ruler in...

but what is the point of using comptech header and still sticking with stock cat...i would recommend et new highflow cat..if possible do pilping too
I will jake it up tommorrow and measure! The comptech header has a "flat" flange not the doughnut style. I was planning on getting a hiflow cat anyways, but wanted to bolt it up cuz i love putting new toys on my cars. My buddy has a custom bent ss piping made for his 97 ls thats he is going to give me to try out, if i don't like it I am going to go witht the comptech exhust, unless I can find something else to suit my needs! NOT LOUD>but add a little power(well as much as can be gained for a gs
Thanks for the comments!

you need 16" catco hi flow (im not sure this will pass emission, they all claim to be passed but who know)....2.25for normal appli piping or 2.5for higher appli and future bolts and add on....try to reduce as much welding as possible to prevent air turbulence inside exhaust piping...make sure there is no leak at flanges and welding too
you shouuld wait for everything to come by and put them on at one....replacing new toys everything w/out looking at the consequences = cost more and extra **** you dont need to pay....and it is the most common mistake people make...rush = bad
