how do i fix this? or what could be wrong with it?

how do you know it went bad? i wasn't aware there was a sensor for this. bump

On my '95 it's one of the 3 toothed-wheel sensors inside the distributor. Look for bad wiring. Otherwise I think you can't buy just the sensor. Have to buy a distributor.

code 9 (cyl position sensor) is there anyway to fix the sensor with out replacing the distrubtor
