clutch / tranny ? slipping? take a look
today i was driving home normally. i dont really beat on my car. so when im in 3rd gear cruising and i hit the gas pedal it were as if the clutch was slipping. the rpms would raise very slightly, and the car would barely vibrate. however, it only does this in 3rd.
1st, 2nd, grab fine, and if i hit the pedal while crusing it does not slip or show any indication of slipping. it does in 3rd.
also if this has anything to do with it i let my girlfriend drive last night and she launched around 6k a couple of times on accident but not a complete dump of the clutch she more or less feathered it.
any ideas?
how do i go about checking the clutch?
is it possible its just air in the clutch lines?

Air in the clutch lines should do the opposite. The clutch wouldn't disengage until you pressed the pedal down kinda farther than the normal disengage point.
also anyway to check what it is without dissasembling anything?
on another thread someone posted on how to check it.

Your other thread says the fluid is dirty. First thing I'd do is bleed it, just to rule that out.
Watch the action of the throw-out lever. Mine moves about 12mm or 13mm when someone pumps the clutch. Air in the lines should cause it to be less than that, because the pedal will use part of its stroke compressing the air before the slave begins moving.
Overall, it sounds kinda like a slipping clutch, but I usually try to rule out simpler stuff before doing the big jobs.
