Default neuspeed koni's vs. regular koni yellows.

I've been doing a lot of research about suspension, and have come across something that I'm not quite sure about. I've found two types of Koni yellows. One being the neuspeed and the other being the regular koni. All of the websites talk about the 5 vs. 3. What exactly are the differance between these two besides the extra $35?

NS Konis have 5 perch settings to control ride height vs 3 on the regular ones.

IIRC, the NSK is supposed to have NS spec valving. I may be wrong.

Extra $35 per shock or per set? If its per shock then no, I don't think its worth it - especially if you have coil-overs.

as far as i know.....the only diff is that the neuspeed yellows have 5 perches, where the regular yellows have 3 on the front.....so, just a little better adjustability.....if you have coilovers though, that doesnt really matter.

Sorry to misslead. Not per shock, it's per set at http://www.importhorizon.com/shocks.html. I also do not have coilovers or springs yet. I think I'm getting an Eibach Pro Kit. I don't want to go too low, but I also want to compensate for the subs in the trunk as well. I do a lot of daily driving (close to 800 miles a week) and I want something a little firmer than stock, and something I can still take to the track an thrash around as well. I don't want too stiff of a ride, but I also don't like the mush I get from OEM.

From the discription of what you wanted, Koni/neuspeed race spring is not for you. The set-up is very stiff. I would recommended Koni yellow with neuspeed sport or H&R sport. Those spring have softer spring rate and i think the neuspeed race is kind of too low. BTW i have Neuspeed koni yellow/neuspeed race spring on my integra... on smooth road it ride beuatiful and handle is awesome but on pot holes it a pain in the ***.

I hope I didn't sound like I was buying race springs. I'm talking about the actual neuspeed koni shocks vs. the regular koni yellow shocks. I'm planning on getting eibach pro kit's.

as far as i know, i dont think there any different between the two but since it only 35 and have 2 extra perched i would buy the neuspeed koni. I read that people have good result with H&R sport, they said it ride smooth so im just giving some ideas... Eibach are good spring also, either way it should be good...

The Neuspeed one has 5 perches and a shorter shaft, or rod, whatever.

How much range differance of adjustability is there between the two kinds? I wanna drop the front a little more than the back, obviously, but, is it really worth the extra money?!

dude, you get more adjustability, meaning you can fine-tune your front ride height that much more (regardless of how much of a pain in the *** it will be to change it). at a premium of only $35. now i know the more cost-conscious people on this board (i'm one of them) wouldn't want to pay for something they're not going to use. but the fact is, it's only $35.

basically, if you really need that $35.00 to pay for necessities, then get the regular koni yellows. if you're at a point where spending $35.00 on a feature you may find you don't need isn't a problem, then get the neuspeed shocks. there's always the future. you may decide you need to go lower later on.
