I've been looking to upgrade my d16z6 Turbo Setup, and with the apexi kit, the best place to start is with the turbo. I'm running a z6 with rods, pistons, and hondata. I have been looking up information on switching to a drag-gt32 setup but the cost is somewhat of a problem.

Has Anybody upgrade the Turbo on their Apexi Sohc Turbo kit? If so, what did you upgrade to / what did you need.

The APEX'i kit uses a T25 Turbine flange, I would look to ATPTURBO.com for your replacement. You'll want something with a T25 Turbine housing, but be careful with the size of the compressor housing, as most of the JDM cast T25 manifolds mount the turbos very "snug" to the manifold and block. Take measurements, then call ATP, and ask em for something that'll fit. They've (Garrett) come out with some sick turbos since I've done my T28 setup...

 

GT2871R. Nice on the D-motors, despite how much i don't like them as much as B or K series

 

Also I believe that the bolt pattern is the same, but the holes/bolt are reversed. Try looking for posts from glagola1 in the archives concerning the Apexi turbo.
