Default Compression Test Results

225
230
250
215

The car is burning like 1L of oil every 500-600 km. The question is Rebuild or Not Rebuild?

compression #'s are rather close to each other, but you might try a different oil first.

I am using Motul 8100 5w40 now, what other oil would you suggest?

I am running a test pipe, so I can definitely smell it.

Look slike your burning regardless of brand or weight, You might want to try a leak down test before taking it apart.

i would suggest a leakdown like bbasso said because the compression seems fine and it also seems like you've experimented with other oils.

I did a leakdown last month already and it was like 5-7% in 3 cylinders and one cylinder was 20%. And I think that the same cylinder that has 215 compression.

The air is coming from the oil cap on the 20% one, and I can't hear any air leaking for the other 3 cylinders.

Maybe... taking a shot here...

Valve seals could be bad.

I see that there are three people here asking questions on One persons post, not that I have a hard time reading but maybe it would be beneficial to make your own threads?

Evereyone has slightly different setups and not one answer is for all.

I thought it is the piston ring if the air is coming out of the oil cap?

The raw number can vary a lot. What you're looking for in a compression test is a variance between the cylinders. Since you're solid across the board, you should be fine.

I agree....but what the hell made you wanna check your compression in the first place? Is it running shitty or just using some oil?

Not trying to hijack anyones thread its just that I have the same exact problem with my motor as well. Wanted to see what he's doing about it.
