What do u think about 2001 Impreza 2.5RS?
My CRX has a life of its own. Someday it won't start for no reasons but other days it ran fine. It would be a good project car but now I need a reliable car to commute to work.
A friend of mine is selling his white '01 2.5RS with 45k on odometer for a little over 8 grand. Only mod is upgrade 17" wheel. I have heard that Impreza are reliable and last pretty long. What do you guy think? I am thinking of picking this thing up tomorrow and try it out at Redline track event on Nov. 19?
Should I do it or stick with Honda product better? I like a late model Prelude but it is darn expensive. What should I do?

Exactly, do what you want to do.

DUDE....get the RS. Those things are bad *** man. Great car. They fly when you stick a turbo on them as well.
Shoot...I am a honda guy myself. Used to have a 97dx coupe and I'm looking into getting a civic for my girlfriend and possibly another hatch for myself....
But.....right now... I have a 2004 wrx wagon. I freakin love it. If you get one..drop me a line over on i-club.com (same name over there_OneManArmy)
The RS is a great car..one of the toughest looking car Subaru ever built. been trying to talk my buddy into one since I got my wrx. he's getting one when he gets stationed.

Hatebreed...nice name and avatar..I see you like suicidegirls.com. Know a couple girls on the site myself.haa.
Labatt50. Braking is ok on them. For a couple hundred buck you can pick up some new rotors, lines and pads. Just lines and pads make a huge improvement on the car.
I think what you're probably thinking of is the talk that's gone around about subaru ABS systems. They are way way overactive. My 04 is ok but earlier models have engaged for stupid reasons. Shoot I was slowing down for a stop sign..hit a pot hole and they engaged.
I'll be adding lines and pads to my wrx when my stock pads are toast.

The '01 RS is a great car. I bought one new and drove it on the track and street for about 2.5 years. The AWD helps in tight corners on the track where FWD cars push like crazy and have to stay off the throttle and RWD cars oversteer and have to keep off the throttle. There's good aftermarket stuff out there. My car ran with Tein medium race springs, some Bridgestone/Tokiko shocks that are a Japan import and a couple hundred pounds of lightening. Subaru sells a 4 pot front brake conversion giving you the caliper of a 300ZX tt and the rotor from a WRX. Upgrade the rear with brackets and rotors from any 2000+ legacy (so called H6 conversion). Many guys run these cars for well over 200k miles. The engine is exactly the same as found in the Legacy, Outback...2.5 165hp/165#ft torque. You'll enjoy the torque but won't have the high revs of the Honda. In the winter, run 4 snows and laugh at the explorers swerving all over the highway as you blow by 50mph faster than them.

Subies are good cars. My main car is a 2003 WRX. My second car is a 91 CRX HF which I've had since new. Lots of aftermarket stuff for subies. Once you start turboing a subie aftermarket it gets expensive fast. The AWD is prolly the best part of subies. Just wish they made a 3.5 tt version of their boxer motor.
Impreza 2.5rs's are gettin rare..
My friend put an JDM EJ20(twinturbo turbo 4-cam motor) in it and its stock and it flys,,
Subarus are reliable cars
..The gas mileage is alittle bad compared to a honda though, due to the AWD......
