Default BRAKES

I own a 94 Coupe, and I am looking for better performance out of my brakes. I have looked at some brake systems, and wanted other peoples opinion.

I hardly ever drive the car, but when I do I want it to stop on a dime.

The one brake set I like is AP Racing kit: rotors, pads and 4 piston calipers for $1850.00. AP has a good name from Formula 1, so thats why I looked at them first.

If anyone has any suggestions regarding this or any other kit I would greatly appreciate it.

What is this car used for?

Make 2 phone calls. One to carbotech, ask for Matt and the other to tire rack . Thats all you need.

You'll probably be surprised with the difference some decent pads will make.

That said, if you want to buy an AP kit, buy mine

The car is used for weekend track events-once every blue moon.

Why are you selling the AP racing kit?

I sold my track car.

As is the case with most of my parts, I never used them before putting them back up for sale.

Why not go with carbon fibre pads and carbon fibre rotors?

Don't forget the wilwoods don't come with dust shields, a big no-no for a street car.

How many people actually have a problem caused by running without those on the street? I've yet to find any, but when I go out to the track with race pads, I'll melt the insulation off of my ABS sensor wires (time for a little custom heat shield!).

Yeah, if you travel 20 miles of gravel roads everyday?

I helped my uncle install a kit with 6-pot calipers in his C4 vette, within 6 months and about 12000 miles they were all gummed up and we had to tear them down and replace them. Might not be a huge deal for people who stick to squeeky clean roads 100% of the time, or if their car sees 500 miles of street use a month, but for a car that is driven a lot I would look for a different option. Personally I'm in the midst of accuring parts to convert to 5-lug with NSX calipers, it's OEM honda so you know it's gonna be good on the street
