Bosch MicroEdge is the best.
Unfortunately you can't buy just the refills for them anymore, you have to buy the whole wiper.

hey pat, i gota question.. on most blades i've bought, including bosh, when they go up, the blade jump's up and down in a choping style, then when they go down, its smoother and more quiet.. why is this?
if you know what im talkin bout?

I wouldn't pay more than $4 for a pair of 2 inserts (same size, for Integras you buy 3 sizes and have a spare set for next time). Pretty much all wiper blades turn to crap after 6 months or so, no sense in spending alot of money on them. Just replace them often.

It's the wiper arms, not the blades. They're slightly bent/twisted such that the blade isn't perpendiular to the glass, and so when it goes up it's trying to push the edge of the blade against the glass, and coming back down it drags the blade like it's supposed to. The blade has to be perpendicular to the glass so that the blade will flex and drag along the glass in both directions. You should be able to bend or twist the arms slightly to help quiet it down.

silicone wipers are not that great.
i use anco winter wiper "housings" with bosch microedge inserts. the winter wiper housings have a nice rubber gasket that help push snow and keep the arm from freezing up. but, the bosch blades work very nicely in winter and rain.
the last set of bosch inserts i had lasted over a year until they started to show wear. and that was with constant use in the winter and spring.

another thing to consider is that if you don't have rain all year [hehe, I love san diego] then your wiper blades will most likely get all dry and nasty by the time you need them again. so expensive wipers would have to be replaced just as often. I keep meaning to use some of those wiper "handy wipes" as a maintenance thing but I'm lazy.

Yeah but you said it's $12 for everyone else, and I'm part of everyone else.
And when I say the wiper blades have turned to crap, I'm referring to them not fully wiping all the water off in one swipe. They might still work okay, but I like wipers that wipe ALL the water away, and not leaving a little bit behind. I just put some wiper blades on my car maybe 2 months ago? And they're already crappy. They still work, but I'm the perfectionist type.

i've seen people coat their blades w/ RainX .. and it seems to work pretty well .. as far as using RainX on the glass .. ppl have complained about fogging .. though, i don't know if RainX is the cause.

i used rainX on the glass... it smudges on the glass if you turn on the windshield wiper, which kind of sucks. but if it doesnt rain too hard around your area... you wont even need to turn on the wipers and the rain will just roll off smoothly.

i've used it before also, and i like it. i don't use my wipers at all if i have recently put it on. it'll usually last a little under a month. i wonder if the rainx wipers are any good? i saw them at walmart for a little after 7 bucks a piece i think. that was a few months ago though.
