My Civic Ball joint (buffalo)
Just wanna check out how much does it cost to fix a ball joint? I dun wanna get conned by those mechanics....Anyway if there's some1 help me out..tat would be great
Upper ball joints aren't 'replaceable' - you have to replace the whole upper control arm because the ball joint is pinned in. UCA ~$50-60 (OEM).
Lower ball joints can be replaced. Parts are about $30 (OEM) but to replace it, the whole knuckle needs to come out so that the ball joint can be pressed in/out.
I'm GUESSING that 'the book' states about 2-3 hours for either repair - so figure $40-60/hour and you could be looking at a sub-$200 repair cost.
No chance of you being able to do this yourself/friends?

96-00 ball joints aren't available seperate from the whole upper arm (same with later accords Im sure) but earlier models you can get the joints pressed out and new ones pressed in. Becuase Progress upper camber kits for DC and EG are just offset-studded ball joints using the stock arms.
What year/model do you have?
