b20z intake manifold vs stock LS... any better?
does the b20z manifold with the intake chamber make any more power/better flow over a standard LS manifold?
this is the mani im talking about

i can get one for free... so im just wondering

It tends to make more midrange, but less peak power. Keep in mind it is designed around a lower redline, SUV, which few drivers would frequently rev it throughout the whole range.
I would stick with the LS manifold.

That box that is sitting on top of the mani is basically a air reserve, its a large chamber that stores air, this allowed them to shorten the runners of the z manifold but still get the same mid range power from the manifold. That box comes off and leaves a huge hole in the top of the manifold, i always wondered if you removed it and covered the hole would it be something like a skunk 2 manifold?
i was thinking the same.... since i can get it for free99... why not port it at home and plug the hole... hmmm
Don't bother, I have had one. It still has long narrow runners and a small plenum.
I have seen 10whp + gains from switching to a LS manifold on a B20z.

10HP really? do you have dyno to prove this? skeptical because I thought the dimensions were the same as the LS manifold just w/ a hole on top.

Their not even close, you cant even use the b20b IMs in civics, they sit to tall, it will majorly hit the hood. Ls manif has shorter runners (still long as hell, but shorter than b20), mabye larger plenum too, not to sure on that one though. LS > b20 intake manif.

Edit: oops, im talking about b20b mainfolds, the b20z manifolds with that stupid resonator chamber will not make more power than LS either though.

Post a want to buy ad in the classified section. And also try talking to ppl at nonvtec.com, someone has to have an extra LS IM!
