i drive a stock 92 cx, and i just got a letter from emmission testing to go get tested. Thing is i don't have a muffler. Will it be possible for me to pass emmissions? maybe shove that tube thing straight into my downpipe? (i dunno?) I was hoping to just wait it out, and get a catback when i got my swap......

 

well emissions test are different everywhere but you do need a cat to even think of passing

 

well i still have a catalytic converter if just my muffler fell off, right? (not sure)

well the cat is right after your header and the muffler is all the way at the end

 

i guess i should rephrase my question.

does the muffler itself (or lack of) change anything on the actual emmissions of my car?

if not, assuming that they can somehow attach the testing assembly to my downpipe, i should be able to pass, correct?
