Default Where Do I Drill Out My Steering Column Lock?

Ok so I have my steering column plastic off. I see where I *think* I am supposed to drill but I wanted to verify before I start hacking away. What I have found is a silver plate on the end of a cylinder that runs from the ignition switch housing at a 45 degree angle up to the steering column. Is this silver plate where I drill? If so how far do I drill and what size bit do I use?

Thanks!

Ok, if you got the plastic housing off, look up from underneith the steering column, there is a silver/copper round plate with a dimple in the middle.. It is located directly in the middle of the ignition switch (length wise) and in the centerline of the steering column.. Just drill up into it 9where the dimple is) and a ball and spring will pop out, I used a 3/8" bit, only takes about 3 turns with the drill =~)
