Default JDM Conversion (HID vs. Non-HID)

I was just wondering what the differences between the two kits were besides the fact that one comes with HID and the other does not... How bright are the JDM HIDs? Are they really worth the extra cost?

How bright are they in comparison to the Philips kits? 4300, 6000k? I hear they have a greenish tint to them.....

Why do you say it clowns? Why not just get a 6000k Philips kit for $500, and use the other $500-700 for other mods.

not really. Color wise the Philips to me looks better. However for projection reasons, the OEM will always be better.
Its really up to you if you want the color look or the performance aspect of having OEM HID's.
With OEM HID's you get a crazy cutoff pattern from the special headlight housings. The Philips kit can do the same, however you need to have the OEM HID housings. Basically headlight housings that are designed for HID's will always be better in projection then just normal projector headlights. However if color is the issue, both look nice. The OEM's have a green/blue look, the Philips have a purple/blue look. So its up to you.

exactly. The 6000k will give you even more of a blue/white look. A look that no other HID or OEM HID headlights will give. Basically the main advantage of getting OEM HID's is for the cuttoff beam that you get with OEM HID's. If you want to see the difference (which I would recommend since HID's either way are tons of money) come by and I'll show you mine on the road vs. a HID kit on just projectors.

What do you mean by Cut off beam? I was thinking about just buying the Phillips 6000 for my OEM Projector head light for my Integra. Is the light beam in the NON-HIDs head lights scattered compared to the HIDs head lights?

Yeah, I don't understand what you mean by cut-off beam either... What is it?

the cuttoff beam is the beam the projectors emit. On stock projectors w/HID's you have a nice cut off beam up close. But from a far distance that beam looses its sharpness. Also the range that projectors emit is semi-small. Range as in the light shooting from the left side of the car to the right side of the car with a sharp cut off beam.
Where as OEM HID's emit a sharp cuttoff beam from close or far away. Also their range from left to right is greater by no compairison.
Its kinda hard to explain. My best suggestion is go ride in a car with projectors with a HID kit on them. Then go ride in a S2000, X5, Audi, etc... and you will know what I mean.
Look at a wall next to you when your driveing or just look at the widewalk, etc... when your driving both cars. Basically the projectors with HID's with cast a strong amount of light right in front of you with some light on the sides of the road. The OEM HID's will cast a equal amount of light all around you (in front and on the sides).
Maybe I have a picture around here showing what I mean.

So if I was to get Non-HID JDM Conversion, and then use a Philips 6000k kit, I should order the JDM Conversion with the HID Housings and just not the HIDs themselves?

I'm not sure if you can just order the HID housings without the HID's.
If the cutt off beam is worth $1200 go for it. But the Philips kits with or without 6000k bulbs looks just fine. Heck I drove around with a US front with a HID kit for around a year, then I got the JDM front and put that kit on it for around a half of a year, then I got the OEM HID's because I had a killer chance to get them for extreamly cheep.

But yeah like I said. If you can spend or put the $1200 to something else thats needed for the car (engine mods, seats, hood, etc...) you might wanna do that because spending $1200 on lights might be a little much when you still have a way to go with performance mods.
