Default Please Critque Civic SI, price, etc

Sup,

-I'm going to go see this Civic SI this friday, i talked to him already he said he would be willing to accept $8,500. My uncle and I are going to negociate it down to 8,000 hopefully......what are good ways to negociate the price even lower? This is a dealship also.

- There is an exhaust system and sri on the vechile, although i have not seen the vechile yet, but based on the pictures do you think the exhaust is going to sound like a fartcan aka beejar? Can anyone identify this exhaust or muffler for me? It is a dealship, he does not have much info on it for me.

also why would the DOHC VTEC, stickers be pink?

also alloys don't seem like the ones that come w/ civic SIs.

Why is that? Thanks

Can't tell what kind of exhaust it is, so many look alike these days. But it doesn't look like anything special.

1. Someone must have changed the stickers and got pink/red ones. Why they did, I have no clue. But it was dumb.

2. Those are not even wheels/alloys on there. Those are hubcaps. Even worse than the pink stickers.

The engine looks really clean though. And for ~$8000 it doesn't seem like too bad of a deal. Just throw some different rims on it. You can always customize it to how you want it.

looks almost to clean for an engine w/ 81,XXX. Wait my engine looks cleaner and has 97,XXX. Good luck, always talk them down mention the rims, aftermarket parts, as well as the lame stickers for reasons to lower the price.

looks like a clone to me... either that or someone wanted to hide the fact that it was an si... the badging is wrong... no si on insturment cluster... i would take the vin and call a honda dealer to see what is was for sure... check inside under trunk panels for wrinkles in metal as well could have been wrecked!

An instrument cluster is where all the gauges are.

The SI's had the B16A2 in them, not A1.

It does have the SI seats though, or at least the headrests, and the SI shift ****, etc. Check for alignment of body panels, ie: fender with doors and hood, trunk lid and rear quarter panels. Chances are someone didn't know what they had, wanted to keep the rims, and tried to make it fast with a fart can. It's hard to say what the exhaust would sound like, but it could be pretty loud.

theres a possibility that i might buy a 2000 model civic coupe si. although one of my other options are a 5th gen prelude which is alot faster! the civic i can get for a really low price, although after looking at the 111lb torque and 160hp....that is ******* slow. i expected more out of a si. a 5th gen prelude pushes 200hp and 156lb torque! i understand the prelude is a good 500lb more....that prbly makes a 20hp difference to the wheels and like 30lb difference of torque to the wheels! i want this car as a street and track car and daily driver. How bad would a civic si stock loose to a prelude stock?
- if i do end up w/ the civic si, what are ways to increase torque? does the short ram intake give torque and the cai give top speed? am i correct? if i bolt on a sri...how much torque would i get out of it? I am looking for more of a daily driver/street car.

5th gen ludes aren't much faster I keep up with my buddies. Just a few tenths of a second behind him at the track. They are very beautiful cars though!!!

go for that civic. It looks clean
Already has intake/ header/ exhaust.
And for the price it looks good. I personally like the hubcaps.. Sleeper style..
Would look good with black front mount intercooler
And i would put the stock muffler back on. Throw a 2.5inch cutout before the cat and be done!

it has a short ram and dc headers.
and no that stupid non-sense hose wont intake water.

you keep talking about the intake and exhaust and not the important stuff like a leakdown test; since the engine has mods in it the last owner prolly didnt treat the engine nice.so make sure it checks ok

Definetly, all this cosmetic stuff can and probably would be changed by you to meet your specific needs. Don't worry about that, worry about the major stuff. Make sure the engine is in good condition, and everything is sound on the car.

do a vin check wit carfax. find out if it was hit stolen or any type of damage done. and second of all that is not a 5 lug conversion my friend. those are sum pep boy hubcaps that have a look alike of it having 5 lugs. those hubcaps are not factory hubs. but other than that i dnt u take it for a road test before you buy it. see how it drives. check to see if the car pulls to the left or rite is the wheel off centered
