Default Another possible HID kit group buy...6000K or 10000K

Hey guys,

I've been talking to the owner of K-Speed motorsports located in socal area about a group buy on the "new" HID kit. Unlike the old PHILIPS kit, the new kit will come w/ either the 6000K or 10000K bulbs. I'm no expert on the HID kit, but from what I heard and my personal experience. The old PHILIPS HID kit comes w/ the 3000k bulbs, which is why it becomes yellowish as it warmed up. However, the new HID kit (6000K or 10000K) will produce almost "exact" lighting as the real HID on the TLs, S2000s, Lexus..and etc...

I'm not posting to make "profits"...I'm only trying to organize this group buy so i can get the kit cheaper too. The price so far is $600 for the entire kit w/ the 6000k bulbs. I'm not sure how much cheaper the price will be if the group buy is successful...(I'm still talking to the owner about it)...right now i just want to get some feedback from you all to see how many of you will be interested. Of course, the more the better. So please let me know if you'll participate in this group buy. I'll post more infos on the price after I work out some kind of a deal w/ the owner.

By the way, so far the kits are in back order...and the owner is getting some kit w/ 10000k bulbs too. So if you will be inerested...let me know which kit you preferr...the 6000K or the 10000K.

If you already have the PHILIPS kit, you can get the light bulbs alone...but i'm now sure about the price for the bulbs yet...but let me know if this is what you need.

I'll try my best to put up some pics of these new HID ktis as soon as possible.

LET ME KNOW....

Where does the HID kit made from? This will make a very important issue here..
I wouldn't consider if the kit is made in Korea or China .. coz it'll F U C K ING breaks man..

Anyways, if the price is right, quality, Warranty
... etc. count me in.

Who makes the bulbs? I don't think phillips has a 10000 kelvin bulb out at this time. I did a search and could not find a 10000 kelvin bulb for automotive applications. There are some for fish tanks though.

Philips makes the Ultinon bulbs which are 6000k. They also make the 4300K bulbs used in many OEM HID installations. The reason why HID retros look "yellowish" is because of the optics of the housings. They were designed for halogen bulbs and use the light from the entire filament while HID housings use the light from just the upper part of the arc which is where the bluish light comes from.

I have HID in my teg now (4300K) and I am satisfied with the colour as well as the light output. Most people say that the 6000k bulb looks whiter but is dimmer. Philips rates the 4300K bulb at 3200 Lumens and the 6000k bulb at 2600 lumens.

You can get more info at the automotive forum at http://www.philips.com

That means that, while the 6000K bulb puts out whiter light, it actually puts out less light than the 4300K bulb.

i highly recommend the ' K2 Purple Output ' kit- i believe there is a groupbuy for it right now. those HID's are indeed purple and have a similar output to audi, s2k, etc. i am the proud owner of a set along with a friend.

The HID kit are from PHILIPS...you cant find the 10000K bulbs here...the owner of K-Speed is the only owner that has source to the 10000K HID kit so far...as i was told...I'll try to get the price out as soon as possible.

Hmm..sounds interesting, these are the "Vision" 6000k HID kits, I came across these at;
http://www.importtrenz.com/importtre...ting/hid.shtml
http://www.xtremewhite.com/ORD-Light...44-1-1-1-1.cfm

I can confirm that SPW can get Phillips, I don't know about Vision though. Not sure..

Thanks for the info though..

okay guys....i'll have to apologize to you all. I can't get this group buy to work, so the price for the PHILIPS 6000K HID kit is $575 each. As for the 10000K kit, the owner of K-Speed told me that he's not gonna get any because so far he only has source to the 10000K from Korea...which is shitty...so he's not gonna get any.

As for the 6000K bulbs, its gonna be $270 for both.
