question relating to my LS tranny

i have a LS tranny right now. mad tite 3rd gear grind Y0!!! so i wanna get rid of that. in my room, i have a j1 (xsi b16) tranny with a cracked case and a fucked diff. my question to you is......>> Can i put the b16 gears into my LS case and use the LS case and LS diff???? also, if that duznt work, can i put it into a ys1 casing and use my ls diff. ??cash isnt letting me buy the diff or case, but the ls one and ys1 case i have. pleeez help. if u view me , bump are appreciated.

B16 gears should be interchangable with the LS gears assuming your LS is a '90-'91. I'm by no means an expert on this, so someone please chime in if I'm mistaken.
BTW, I have a B16 J1 in my car, and the gearing is awesome.

I'm pretty sure you can, as long as you use the corresponding synchros, etc. Someone please confirm.
