87 Accord Batt/Alt question
My friend has an 87 Honda Accord lxi 2dr hb and it keeps dying. In the past day and a half, he's driven about 10 miles to my house, then 10 miles back to his house, then the car died @ his house. Tried turning the car over after it died, it was toast. We stayed theref for about 2-3 hours and then tried to start his car up. It fired up just fine. So the battery manages to run out of juice so that it won't keep the car running, but somehow regains enough after so much time to be able to start the thing again?
This started up a couple months ago and so he had the alternator replaced, as we thought maybe the battery wasn't charging while the car is on. No help. Same thing. He's got this charger that's just a big battery. You clip the +/- wires to the battery and then leave it for 15 sec. and it charges it up just enough to fire up the car, but the car doesn't start. Idea's? I was thinking that something might be grounding out? But if so, then why does it manage to recharge...
Thanks in advance!
