Default Question on CTR pistons with b16a2 *already searched*

Like I said, already searched, couldnt find what I was looking for.

Heres the deal, i just want a midly tuned NA EM1.

I just want to put CTR pistons in the bottom end with a 2layer head gasket.

On sites (such as http://www.inlinefour.com) they sell the CTR pistons w/rings for $320 (pretty cheap for a big bump in compression if you ask me). with that, would i need to buy new wrist pins? or can i re-use the ones out of my stock bottom end?

and my next question is about the standard size and .25 overbore.

What do you guys recommend? what's the difference? and if you do overbore .25, how do you go about doing that?

and any other info that can be added to this for additional information would be great

I think you can get them for cheaper than that.

On here they go for 145 without rings.

If you get the oversized ones, you have to bore the block out which I think is worth the hassle.

They will come with new pins. You will have to modify the rod, you know this right?

and you compression would be around 11.6 with the stock hg.
i would not bore unless you have to, less reasons for the machine shop to mess up.

so what is involved in overbore? just shaving or "honing" the cylinder wall? and where could you get that done (reputable)

Just have the maching shop shave off from each side of the small end of the rod, that is what my machine shop did on mine. Nothing wrong with that.

Any machine shop would shave the rods and bore the block, this is very common practice unless they don't know what they are doing.

Boring ivolves making cylinders wider so you can fit your .25 oversized pistons in there, honing is always a good thing.

Compression would be 11.6 like mmuller said, I would go with stock headgasket.

11.4XX:1

Yes you can just use your stock rods and have them "fitted".
